Well folks...we didn't expect to be done this season by the first week of May. Unfortunately, that's the Magic's reality. However, FORTUNATELY for our viewers, it means this week is the Season Three Finale of 'Magic Overtime with Dante & Galante.'

Monday's telecast (May 2) will air 30 minutes earlier at a special time of 5:30 pm ET...so make sure you tune in or reset your DVRs now!

SEASON THREE...ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?!?

What's up, Magic fans? And most importantly...what's up fans of Magic Overtime with Dante and Galante? Seriously...we have fans?!?! And an even more serious question looms...

We're really back on for a THIRD season? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING US?!?!? We didn't give this program three episodes, let alone three whole seasons!

Along with our tireless staff (producer Jason Dewberry, editor Geoff Krohmer, videographer Mike Bauer and newly-crowned head writer, Jake Chapman), we have racked our brains all summer in an effort to try to keep things fresh and exciting for another season.

OK...let's be honest...we all happened to be around the men's room at the same time. A five-minute, pass-by in the halls is really all we need to keep up the excellence of this yet-to-be award-winner.

Season #1 brought you 'What Did Hedo Just Say?!' Season #2 brought you 'The Wheel of Touchy Topics.' What could we possibly conjur up for this go-around?!

Well, we gave it our best shot. We'll have special segments featuring JJ Redick, Ryan Anderson and newcomer, Quentin Richardson. We'll also continue to try to bring you what is most important to us: that's letting you get to know the members of the Orlando Magic away from the basketball court...to see them as the good guys that they are.

And this season, it comes to you in stunning HD - so brace yourself! I'm not sure I'm ready to see myself in high-definition, so I can only imagine how many tuners we may bust come 6 pm on Mondays.

So tune in to Sun Sports for our Season Three premiere on MONDAY, OCTOBER 25 at 6PM. If you can't watch it, DVR it...or log back here the next day and watch episodes in their entirety (re-air schedule is also listed on the left-side of this website).

So we logged into Bill Simmons' column on May 11, 2010, as we typically do on every other day, and what did we find? Check out this gem...WE are the 'local TV people'!!

Heck...we've been called a LOT worse!

THE TORCHY'S AWARD FOR BEST SOUND OF A RECORD SCREECHING TO A HALT
At halftime, I did an interview with two local TV people in which I joked about the O-Rena cougar scene and added, "No wonder Tiger got into so much trouble!" Both guys reacted like Scientologists at an L. Ron Hubbard roast: horrified and even a little fearful. They told me they'd have to edit the joke out. Apparently Tiger jokes go over about as well in Orlando as O.J. jokes did in Brentwood circa 1994. Who knew?

(With that said … again … no wonder Tiger got into so much trouble! I don't think living in the Cougar Capital of the United States, in retrospect, was the best place for a horny celebrity who got married too soon to set up shop.)

Don't worry, Bill...we wanted to keep rolling with it. Dewberry, our producer, always has our best interest in mind though.

"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after two days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55-year-old lady grabbed the 75-pound ladder, almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."

Folks, I don't really know what to tell you. All the rumors, all the chatter...it's all true.

We're back for Season #2.

Believe me...we had the same reaction as you. "Really? We're doing it again?!? They actually want to put this back on television?" Well, believe it. 'Magic Overtime with Dante & Galante' is back for another crack at it.

The show is moving, and it will now air EXCLUSIVELY on Sun Sports! Episodes will air every Monday at 6 pm ET state-wide. That means 6.2 million homes will be subjected to our nonsense. If you happen to miss it, the show will re-air each Tuesday (3 pm ET) and twice on Thursday (11:30 am, 11 pm ET). It will also pop-up occasionally after select Magic postgame shows...so that's definitely a good thing. And you can re-watch shows at your leisure right here on MagicOvertime.com.

We have several new items planned for this season, espcially with the loss of Hedo Turkoglu (damn you, Canada) and 'What Did Hedo Just Say?!' Fans can tune in for tremendous new features like 'Magic Money,' 'Not Necessarily The NBA News,' and our personal favorite, the 'Wheel of Touchy Topics.'

So take that, Hedo.

Well...the boys of Summer League, we guess.

Despite our furious attempts to miss July 6-10, it looks like fans that view the live stream of the 2009 Orlando Pro Summer League will get a nice steady dose of Dante and Galante.

What does that mean? Honestly, we have no idea. And that's the beauty of Summer League...no one in the gym knows. You never know when you will see an absolute talent like Derrick Rose, an absolute sloth like Luke Schenscher or an absolute gem like Vladimir Galobuvic.

One thing we do know is that if you hang with us, try not to take the horrific basketball seriously and send us your e-mails, you will chuckle...at least once, if not more.

So Dante walks into my office yesterday and says, "Boy, do I have a surprise for you!" I thought maybe Dwight Howard agreed to do every show from here on out, or maybe there was free pizza in the breakroom. Unfortunately it was none of these things.

"Your earmold kit came in!"

My earmold kit? What the heck is this?!?

On our show, we use IFB lines so we can hear things behind the scenes. Whether it is the video/audio we are rolling for guests, Mad Dawg in the control room, our fearless producer, Jason Dewberry or our director, Kevin Cosgrove...they are all coming through the IFB.

Essentially I use a community earpiece. I really didn't think anything of it, because let's face it - I'm not a TV guy. However, everyone thought it would be a good idea that I have one. The more I think about it, it is pretty disgusting, as I don't know how many ears my piece has been in before mine.

The earmold kit is essentially a small container of powder, joined by an even smaller container of liquid. After you dump the liquid into the powder jar (I still don't know what the heck it was), you stir it until it becomes a gooey consistency.

Now here is where the fun begins.

Dante says to me, "Now jam it as far into your ear canal as it will go and leave it in there for about 10 minutes."

10 minutes? Is he serious?!? Well, sure enough, as I read the directions from Audio Implements, it tells you "Leave mold in ear untouched for approximately 10 minutes." And if there's one thing the good folks in Waukesha, Wisconsin know, it's earmolds (well, I'd imagine cheese and beer as well).

Finally after 10 minutes, I can pull the goo out of my ear. I must have done a good job, because it took a few moments to pull it out. Unfortunately for me, Trish Wingerson of our communications department strolls into my office right as I am trying to extract the Play-Doh from my lobe.

"What are you doing? Do you need a hearing aid??"

Ahhh...the glamorous life of being on television.

Sure this post is a long time coming, but we figured we'd let a few past episodes carry the site during the holidays. And now that is over...back to random thoughts.

The final road trip of 2008 was a long one - three games spread out over six days in cities that did not get above 30 degrees. However, it kicked off for me with a bang.

After our first night in Minneapolis, I stepped into the shower the next morning in my hotel room to start my day. Imagine my delight when I noticed the craziest shower ever. Not one, not two, but FIVE shower heads to spray water. If you don't believe me, here's a picture of the god of all showers:

I mean really...does it get any better than that? I'll answer my own question...no, it simply doesn't. I think I took 63 showers in a day-and-a-half.

So Jennifer, coordinator in the Magic's broadcasting department, called me towards the end of the day on Thursday, just prior to me leaving for the arena to watch our Magic battle San Antonio.

Jennifer: "Hey George! Did you see that episode of The Office last week? Where Dwight walks in and everything on his desk is wrapped?"

George: "Yes I did! That was hilarious!"

J: "We are thinking about doing that to Dante for tomorrow. What do you think?"

G: "What time in the morning should I get down there to see his face?"

SHE'S A BEAUT, AIN'T SHE CLARK??

Tonight may be the night that I finally get into the Christmas spirit.

Every year, there are a few movies that my wife and I like to pop into the DVD player as December 25 creeps closer. But none screams out 'Deck the Halls!' better than what I may finally view again tonight - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. There are so many scenes jam-packed into 97 classic minutes.

From the moment the movie opens with Clark's family truckster careening down the highway on their journey for the perfect tree, you know your cheeks are going to hurt until the final credits roll. There are so many highlights to choose from:

- Clark and Rusty hanging lights on the house. So many that now even YOU, when you pass a crazy-lit house while driving, you immediately reference that home to The Griswolds:
Aunt Bethany: "Is your house on fire, Clark?"
Clark: "No, Aunt Bethany. Those are just the Christmas lights."

- Eddie emptying his RV dumper in front of the Griswold estate:
Eddie: "S#&*@^% was full!"
Clark: "Ah yes. You checked our s#&*@^% , honey??"

- Snot, Eddie's dog:
Eddie: "If you scratch his belly, Clark, he'll love you until the day you die."
Clark: "I really shouldn't, Eddie. My hands are all chapped."

- Drinking eggnog out of Marty Moose cups and the ensuing rant that follows when Clark's Christmas bonus turns into the Jelly-of-the-Month gift:
Clark: "Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out into the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?
Eddie: "Naw, I'm doing just fine, Clark."

I really could go on and on and on...but instead of doing that, I'm going to suggest that you run to your nearest video retailer, grab Christmas Vacation, get a snack and beverage (adult or otherwise), sit back and enjoy quite possibly one of the greatest holiday movies created. Ever.

How Well Do You Know Rashard Lewis?

That's the question Galante and I asked ourselves a few days ago. The answer: Not at all!

We know he's having a great season, and he's already hit a few game winners in his short time in Orlando. We know he spent 9 seasons in Seattle, played with Ray Allen, had a 50-point game, was born in Houston and came to the NBA directly from High School.

That's great.......but not at all what interests Dante and Galante!

How Ya Like Me Now?

Can the Orlando Magic finally start being part of the conversation now? You know...the one where writers, announcers and "experts" throughout the country discuss the NBA's best teams? We think now is as good of a time as any.

Dante & Galante both agree - Boston, Cleveland and the L.A. Lakers have all been out of this world, going a combined 55-8 heading into Friday night's action. LeBron is playing out of his skull, Kobe is letting his teammates help him out and the defending champs have not suffered a hangover from getting their rings.

However, Orlando is right there, posting an impressive 17-5 mark after Hedo Turkoglu and the Magic sent Portland to its first home loss with a dramatic three-point shot. We didn't know banks in Oregon stayed open so late...but we digress. The only other times the Magic were 17-5 through their first 22 games were 1994-95 and 1995-96.

The Magic are right there with the best. There is a definite line between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'...and right now, Orlando is in the better half. Heck, make that the better 15 percent. There may still be another level for us to reach in order to catch the Celtics and/or Lakers, but it is not as far as you may think. Last night's gutsy performance in Portland proved that.

So speak up, Magic fans...Let your voices be heard. The country can't hear you, but they should...you just need to scream a little louder - GO MAGIC!

Sho'Nuff...that's Dwight

After our premiere episode with Dwight Howard aired and re-aired (which you can still see below: see SHOW #1 - 12/5/08), a few inquiring minds wondered what Dwight really looked like in his Sho'nuff costume on the road. Was it really as good as we said it was?

Well...after a little searching...we finally dug one up, so judge for yourself.

Can you believe it? I mean, really...can you believe that this show is going to be on TELEVISION?! Yeah, me either. But you know what? It's true!!

"Magic Overtime with Dante & Galante" debuts tonight (Friday, Dec. 5) on WKMG-Local 6, immediately following "The Late Show with David Letterman." I'm sure Dave is ecstatic to have us in the time slot right behind him.

Thanks to Dave Darling and the Orlando Sentinel for printing this great article in today's Sports section about the show. Go buy a paper and check out page 2!

Welcome to "Magic Overtime with Dante & Galante"

Finally...a television show created with Orlando Magic fans in mind!

"Magic Overtime with Dante & Galante" will debut Friday night, December 5, following “The Late Show with David Letterman” at 12:30 am ET on WKMG-Local 6 (CBS-Orlando). The duo’s first guest will be NBA All-Star center Dwight Howard.

The show will air every Friday night at 12:30 a.m. following “Late Show” on WKMG-Local 6 throughout the NBA season (through mid-May). It will also re-air on Mondays on Sun Sports at 6 pm ET and Tuesdays on FOX Sports Florida, also at 6 pm ET.

Fans can also watch at their convenience by logging onto this website (you know, once a show has been aired) or through orlandomagic.com, the official website of the NBA's Orlando Magic.

“Magic Overtime with Dante & Galante” will provide fans insight on their favorite players, coaches and personalities that they can't find anywhere else. In fact, they’ll get to know their favorites like they have never known them before!

Fans can send e-mails (see below) for the chance to win Magic tickets, autographed merchandise and much more throughout the season.
